Recently, my friends and I hosted a Favorite Things Party, and it was so much fun! Everyone brought something they absolutely love, and it was amazing to see what made each person’s list. From practical must-haves to little luxuries, we discovered so many gems worth sharing. Each of us brought two identical gifts, with a $25 limit per gift. I’ve shared all the details on how to play below!
Here’s a list of everything we brought, talked about, and swapped at the party!P.S. We also shared some of our other favorite things that didn’t fit within the price limit, and I’ve included those below as well!

What Is a Favorite Things Party and How Does It Work?
A Favorite Things Party is a fun and creative way to connect with friends while discovering new products, brands, and ideas! The concept is simple: each guest brings a few of their favorite things to share with the group, and everyone goes home with some new treasures. It’s a party filled with joy, laughter, and (of course) favorites!
How to Host a Favorite Things Party
1️⃣ Set a Budget
Decide on a price range for the items each guest will bring. A common range is $15-30 per item, but you can adjust based on your group’s preferences.
2️⃣ Decide How Many Items to Bring
Each guest should bring multiple identical items (usually 3–5, but we did 2) to give away. For example, if you have 10 guests and everyone brings 3 items, each person will go home with 3 different favorites.
3️⃣ Prepare to Share
When it’s time to swap, each guest takes turns presenting their favorite thing. Share why you love it, how you use it, or why it’s worth trying.
4️⃣ The Exchange
You can do the exchange in different ways:
- Random Draw: Write everyone’s name on slips of paper, and each presenter randomly picks names to give their items to.
- Number System: Assign numbers to each guest and have people pick in order.
5️⃣ Make It Fun
Set the mood with snacks, drinks, and maybe even a theme! For example, you can focus on self-care, kitchen must-haves, or cozy winter favorites.
Why Everyone Loves a Favorite Things Party
It’s an amazing way to try new things and get thoughtful recommendations from your friends. Plus, it’s budget-friendly and ensures no one goes home empty-handed!
