Meet George + Michael: The Nutcrackers That Stole Our Hearts
Last year, my mom and I embarked on a creative holiday adventure that quickly became a cherished memory—making our very own Nutcrackers, George and Michael. It was one of those projects that was both easy and time-consuming, but in the best way possible. It was fun, imaginative, and a true labor of love.
For me, nothing captures the magic of Christmas quite like homemade touches—ornaments, heartfelt gifts, and yes, Nutcrackers. There’s something so special about creating something from scratch that will forever hold the spirit of the season.
The process took us two days, as we let the paint dry overnight. There were multiple trips to the craft store (as all good projects require!), but now that we’ve done it once, the next time will be a breeze.
George and Michael are more than just Nutcrackers—they’re a reminder of the joy of creating and the warmth of Christmas spent with family.
I put one on my front porch and added a few bricks to the base to make it more sturdy. Next year, I may have a make your own nutcracker party! Let me know if you would attend!
For now, here is the TUTORIAL i used to make mine. Improvise where you have to, this is suppose to be fun not stressful. Try not to overthink it and have fun!
Look at these homemade nutcrackers my Aunt Jane made. AMAZING!
Merry Christmas!
